Introduction to the archive

In this archive project I would like to explore the role my changing memory plays in the creation of art. Since art itself is a reflection of one’s perception - and my perception and opinion change day to day - I hope to create a project that is able to capture these constantly changing thoughts. Throughout the next few weeks I will choose an object every few days. The next object in my archive will be based in some way off of the previous one, but may pull inspiration from a different opinion, view, perspective, etc of the preceding object. By leaning into the fluidity of my perception in this archive I hope to better understand my circles of thought and memory.

I also really love the concept of collecting objects; things that inherently do not have any value can become invaluable if one simply decides so. It is in human nature to collect and treasure found or created objects, and I think looking into this beautiful aspect of our world would be lovely.
