For these pieces I wanted to play with the idea of preserving specimens. They draw inspiration from the glass slides used to observe biological specimens with a microscope. Instead of being preserved in even and uniform rectangular slides, my wrappers are messily encased in glass. This is meant to reflect the imperfect and often inaccurate ways we form memories; While the wrappers are unchanging as a physical objects, the way I have preserved them warps their original state the same way our memories are never able to objectively reflect the past.
